Hospice Grief Services for KIDS

One in 20 children experience the death of a parent before they turn 18 years old.

The Community Hospice offers grief programing for kids and teens who have experienced any type of death related loss. We offer comfort and healing, and equip young people with the tools needed to cope with their emotions, communicate effectivelywith others, and build appropriate supportive relationships.

Daily problems that grieving children and teens may experience include:

  • disturbed sleeping and eating patterns
  • poor concentration
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • withdrawal
  • low self- esteem
  • headaches
  • anger or outbursts
The Community Hospice's Children's Grief Programs (including CAMP ERIN and WAVE RIDERS) are designed to allow children to express their grief in safe way, and learn important coping skills.
