Volunteering for Camp Erin 2015
Cabin Buddies, Big Buddies, Photographers, etc.
1. Must be at least 18 years of age
2. Must have graduated from High School
3. Must have reliable transportation to and from all of the requried events
4. Must complete a background check (paid for by The Community Hospice)
New volunteers are required to complete an interview and Volunteer Orientation.
We recommend new volunteers apply for the Cabin Buddy position.
Cabin Buddies (60) work one-on-one with an assigned camper of the same gender. Age group and other preferences will be discussed at the interview.
Big Buddies (12) work with the an entire cabin (5 campers, and 5 volunteers).
They provide their own transportation to and from Camp Fowler, and must set up and take down the cabins.
Grief Counselors (12) are typically Hospice Staff, Interns, or long term volunteers – they facilitate grief activities and provide bereavement support to all the campers and volunteers.
Photographers (2) – one male and one female. They are required at ALL events, edit and upload photographs, and create slideshows.
Support Volunteers - Assist at different times of the year with donations, office work, scanning/printing/phonecalls etc.
Support Volunteers may also assist at the different Camp Erin events (such as Departure, Return, Reunion, Trainings, etc.)
